Poured Concrete Foundation or Cinder Blocks?
Posted on June 9, 2009 in the category Airtech TipsPoured concrete foundations are better suited to help with AirTech moisture control units. Cinder blocks are designed to be more porous, and moisture infiltration can pose a problem for these foundations if left untreated and not properly sealed. Cinder blocks are also constructed with an internal cavity, making the surfaces of your basement/crawlspace walls more vulnerable to condensation and moisture problems. For optimal moisture control and indoor air quality, it is recommended to have your foundation walls insulated. Insulated walls helps keep your basement/crawlspace temperature at or above dew point to avoid condensation from forming, and help your AirTech unit work more efficiently.
